Jason specialises in minimally invasive thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery. In particular, he is one of the first endocrine surgeons to introduce robotic thyroid surgery to Australia. Robotic thyroid surgery is a technique that is performed without causing a neck scar, using state of the art "da Vinci Surgical System". Traditional thyroid surgery requires a neck incision to access the thyroid gland. One of the permanent effects of traditional thyroid surgery is therefore a scar across the neck, that can sometimes remain quite visible well after healing. Using the da Vinci Surgical System, robotic thyroid surgery places the incision in the underarm (axilla) area, thus, placing any potential scarring in a less visible area.
