Jirick is the ideal template for showcasing project-based collections. Its index page accomodates multiple galleries at once, and each gallery can hold several images.
Style Presets
Jirick has two preset styles that can be found in a drop-down menu at the top of the Style Editor:
Jirick Zine (Serif)
Jirick Zen (Sans-serif)
Special Features
Color Detector
One special feature of Jirick is the automatic background color detector. This feature is available for both the index page and gallery pages. By selecting this option in the Style Editor, the color of the top left pixel of the first image in every gallery will determine the background color of the entire gallery entry.
Additionally, the template matches dark or light text and icons to the gallery pages, depending on the background color detected. The color will also be applied to the highlight in the index navigation.
Index Page
The index page consists of a series of galleries. All galleries filed under index will be stacked and displayed in that order, rather than as individual gallery pages.
Entry Selector
Jirick features a fixed entry selector on top right corner of the index page to easily access the gallery entries. Each entry is represented by a small rounded square and is stacked vertically in order.
Style Options
Galleries
Gallery pages have the option to auto play, and also display different style controls: tiny thumbnails, bullets, numbers, previous/next, or hidden entirely. The speed of gallery play can be adjusted as well.
Page borders
Borders on Jirick can be dotted, thick, thin, or removed entirely from the template.
Site width & Content width
The site width determines the width of the gallery images, while the content width is the width of the navigation, text, and blocks.
Social Links
For this template, social links are included in the footer of the page. This can be turned on under Options in the Style Editor. Social icons can be represented in round or square styles, and the size of these icons can also be tweaked.
How to Use this Template
Index
Index pages perform best when they have a series of galleries. To create this, add a new gallery page under the index section rather than the main navigation. Galleries that are added as pages will appear differently to galleries under the index. Only galleries in the index will have the entry selector.
Main Navigation
Gallery pages, blog pages, links, folders, and empty pages can all be added to the main navigation. These pages will appear in separate from the index navigation.
Gallery Details
To add a title and description for the gallery, click into Page Settings at the top right corner of the Gallery View. The Navigation Title will appear as a link in the index navigation. The Page Title will appear at the top of the gallery entry. The Description will appear under the title and before the image gallery begins.
